Our Services Overview
The Southport Private Hospital provides our patients with comprehensive mental health and medical rehabilitation services.
The facility includes a 44-bed rehabilitation unit, offering inpatient and day programs for orthopaedic, neurological, amputee, musculoskeletal, pain management, arthritis and pulmonary rehabilitation.
A 22-bed private inpatient mental health unit offers acute inpatient mental health programs for a range of mood and anxiety disorders. Full and part day outpatient programs for non-acute mental health issues are also available.
We have private room accommodation with ensuites, wifi access, television, and tea and coffee making facilities. The hospital has been specifically designed to ensure our patients feel welcome and at home, and includes an in-ward courtyard, spacious gymnasium, heated indoor hydrotherapy pool, as well as a fully equipped art room.
All patients receive a variety of nutritionally balanced meals in the comfort of their room, and care is taken to ensure all dietary requirements for patients are met. Visitor's meals are also available and our on-site café also offers dine in and takeaway options.
We believe in a multidisciplinary approach to care, with a team which is comprised of a consultant psychiatrist or rehabilitation specialist, as well as specialist nursing staff, psychologists and allied health professionals.
Our newest addition to the multi-disciplinary team includes an exercise physiologist who is experienced in delivering therapeutic interventions in line with patient’s treatment recovery care plan goals. This involves the delivery of advice and education, tailored exercise programs and a plan for once a patient has been discharged from the hospital.
Proven to be beneficial in alleviating the symptoms of mental illness, we now also offer yoga classes to our mental health unit twice weekly. These classes are delivered by a qualified yoga instructor with experience in yoga to assist mental wellbeing. An additional chair yoga class is also available for our rehabilitation unit.
Patients can be referred to the Hospital following assessment by their General Practitioner and will be admitted to the Hospital under the care of a consultant psychiatrist or rehabilitation specialist.
